Thieves pass out in stolen car get arrested

VIDEO DESCRIPTION

A police officer saw a vehicle parked at the library with three people who appeared to be passed out. Since the library has been a site of open air drug use and drug sales the officer placed spikes in front of the car's tires to stop the occupants from fleeing. After knocking on the window several times, the officer did not get a response. Finally the person in the driver seat woke up and the officer told them to turn off the car and they became angry, saying that the officer didn't have permission to open the door. Dispatch notified officers that the car was stolen. The officer ordered the suspect out of the vehicle and to put his hands behind his back at which point he saw that there was a firearm in the car. Securing the gun, the two other officers held the remaining suspects at gun point. One of the other suspects had a knife which the officer tossed away. The suspects were arrested and the car was returned to its owner.
