A tour bus carrying 57 students aged 15 to 17, two teachers, and the driver was headed to a school visit at Palácio Piratini when the incident occurred. The situation began after the bus struck high-voltage wires while descending a street. The driver pulled the handbrake and stepped out to check what happened, but the bus began rolling downhill uncontrolled. It hit around ten vehicles and then crashed into a building, where a fire started. Despite the scare, everyone inside managed to evacuate in time, and no serious injuries were reported.
